Hyperbole Publishing

Logo press mark created using prompt for a hypothetical publishing company in class. The prompt was generated by first picking out a random slip of paper from a pile of pieces with different words on them. After that, we picked out three adjectives from a different pile in order to decide what mood our logo should convey.

My company was called Hyperbole Publishing, and the adjectives to describe the branding were strange and interesting, but not aggressive. In order to create the mark, I mocked up imagery from common hyperboles describing reading and books, and ended up choosing the saying "a book is so good that you can't put it down". I then used the hand as a sort of design motif to build the rest of the branding around and created separate but similar marks for specific genres, all trying to follow the description of the prompt and the general exaggerated feeling in regards to the genres.
